Privacy Policy

Wordacious (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the app or contact us.

Wordacious is operated by JKK Solutions Limited, trading as JKK Online.

Privacy, data-rights and feedback contact:

contact@jkk-online.com

1. Information handled by the app

Wordacious does not ask you to create a separate Wordacious username and password, or ask for your name or email address to play.

To provide cloud saving, Wordacious uses your Apple Game Center account on iOS or Google Play Games account on Android to authenticate you with Unity Authentication. Unity creates a pseudonymous player identifier and links it to the relevant platform gaming identity.

We do not receive your Apple or Google password, payment-card details or bank-account details.

Wordacious and integrated third-party services may collect or process information needed for cloud saving, advertising, billing, technical operation, service security and fraud prevention. Depending on the service, platform and privacy settings, this may include:

Device identifiers and pseudonymised information may still be personal data. Information is not necessarily anonymous simply because it does not include your name.

2. Local storage, authentication and cloud saving

Wordacious stores game information locally on your device, including:

When platform authentication and an internet connection are available, Wordacious uses Unity Authentication and Unity Cloud Save to back up selected information.

Information stored in Unity Cloud Save may include:

We use this information to:

Cloud Save data is associated with the pseudonymous Unity Player ID. It is not displayed publicly or made available to other players.

Purchase entitlements and advertising-personalisation choices are not currently stored in Unity Cloud Save. Purchases are restored and verified separately through the relevant app store and purchasing services.

If an internet connection is unavailable, supported changes are saved locally and marked as waiting to synchronize. Wordacious retries synchronization when connectivity returns or when the app is reopened or resumed.

The app may check internet availability and whether a VPN connection is detected to manage advertising and purchase availability. These checks are performed on your device. Wordacious does not use them to inspect your browsing history or VPN traffic.

We process authentication and cloud-save information to provide and maintain the game functionality requested by the player and to support our legitimate interests in preserving progress, maintaining service reliability, preventing inconsistent records and protecting the service.

3. Daily Challenge and sharing

Daily Challenge progress is initially stored locally.

After a Daily Challenge is completed, its completion date, words played, score details, streak information and generated share text may be stored in Unity Cloud Save.

This allows Wordacious to:

Saving a Daily Challenge result does not publish it or send it to another person.

When you choose to share a result, Wordacious prepares text based on your game result and opens your device’s sharing features. You choose the destination, recipient and whether to complete the share.

We do not choose the recipient or directly receive the shared content. Your operating system and the app or service you select handle the sharing action under their own privacy arrangements.

Review the content before sharing and avoid adding information you do not wish to disclose.

4. Versus mode and WAIN

WAIN is a computer-controlled opponent that runs within the app. It is not another person or an external artificial-intelligence service.

Playing against WAIN does not send your individual moves or played words to an external AI service or another player.

Versus win totals and difficulty statistics are stored locally and may also be backed up through Unity Cloud Save.

Wordacious does not currently provide player-to-player matches. If this changes, this policy will be updated before information from player-to-player matches is processed.

Advertising services used around gameplay are covered separately by this policy.

5. Unity Authentication and Cloud Save

Wordacious uses Unity Authentication to create and manage the pseudonymous player identifier used for cloud saving.

On iOS, authentication is performed using Apple Game Center. On Android, authentication is performed using Google Play Games.

The relevant platform provides authentication information to Unity so that Unity can validate the player and associate the platform gaming identity with a Unity Player ID.

Unity Cloud Save stores the selected gameplay and preference data described in this policy. Unity may also process the Player ID, IP address, session information, device information, authentication information and technical information required to operate and secure these services.

Unity processes Cloud Save information on our behalf as a service provider or data processor where applicable.

Unity’s privacy information is available at:

6. Advertising and privacy choices

Wordacious uses Unity LevelPlay for advertising mediation. Advertisements are provided by Unity Ads and ironSource Ads, including interstitial and rewarded advertisements.

Before starting LevelPlay, Wordacious asks whether you allow personalised advertising. You can select “Allow personalised ads” or “Decline personalisation”. Your choice is saved on your device and passed to LevelPlay for the configured advertising networks.

Where you allow personalisation, advertising providers and their partners may use and share device identifiers, IP address, device information and advertising interactions to personalise advertisements and measure their performance.

You can decline personalisation and continue playing. Advertisements may still appear, and providers may process information to deliver and measure advertisements, operate their services, maintain security and prevent fraud according to their privacy policies and applicable law.

Declining personalisation does not mean that no information is processed.

You can change your choice through:

Settings > Info & Privacy > Advertising choices

Changing the choice updates the consent value passed to LevelPlay and discards advertisements already loaded under the previous setting.

Your app-level choice does not override your device’s tracking restrictions or privacy choices made directly with an advertising provider.

Unity may also display its own advertising privacy panel. You can select “Show my choices”, adjust the available switches and select “Save my choices”.

You can revisit Unity’s panel by tapping the Unity Data Privacy icon when or after a Unity advertisement appears. It also provides privacy information and links for opting out, requesting deletion and exercising ironSource data rights.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before consent was withdrawn or automatically delete information already collected.

Provider privacy information:

Unity:

https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy

ironSource:

https://www.is.com/privacy-policy/

These providers explain their partners, processing purposes, legal bases, retention arrangements, international processing and available rights in their own privacy information.

7. In-app purchases

Wordacious uses Unity In-App Purchasing to connect to Apple App Store or Google Play billing.

Purchases are processed by the relevant app store. The app and purchasing services process product, transaction and entitlement information to complete purchases, provide or restore paid features, and recognise refunds or revoked purchases.

Depending on the Unity In-App Purchasing version and platform, Unity may also process information required to operate and secure purchasing services, such as the Unity Player ID, installation and session identifiers, device information and country.

We process information necessary to provide purchased features on the basis of fulfilling our contract with you and maintaining accurate purchase entitlements.

Purchase entitlements are not currently stored in Unity Cloud Save.

We do not receive your payment-card or bank-account details. The relevant app store handles payment information according to its own privacy policy.

8. Messages and feedback

If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send, including your email address, message and any attachments.

We use this information to review suggestions, provide support, respond to privacy requests and resolve problems where appropriate.

Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, resolving problems and improving Wordacious. Where correspondence relates to a purchase or another agreement with you, processing may also be necessary to perform that agreement.

We use Google Workspace to deliver and store correspondence. Our Workspace subscription is supplied through Domain.com.

We retain support and feedback correspondence only for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and normally delete it once it has been dealt with. In any event, we delete it within 12 months of resolution unless longer retention is necessary to meet a legal obligation or handle an ongoing dispute.

We may retain suggested words and word-review decisions without the sender’s name, email address or other identifying information.

Deletion from our mailbox does not necessarily mean immediate removal from every Google system. Residual copies may remain temporarily under Google’s deletion, recovery and backup processes.

Please avoid including sensitive personal information in word suggestions, support messages or privacy requests unless it is genuinely necessary.

9. Retention

Local game information remains on your device until it is reset, removed or replaced, subject to your device’s backup and restoration behaviour.

Cloud Save information remains associated with the Unity Player ID so that supported progress can be restored. Unity states that Cloud Save information is retained by default until the developer deletes it.

We retain Cloud Save information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide progress restoration and synchronization, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security or respond to a player’s request.

You may contact us to request access to or deletion of Cloud Save information associated with Wordacious.

Uninstalling Wordacious may remove local data but does not by itself delete the associated Unity Authentication record or information already stored in Unity Cloud Save.

Signing out of Game Center or Google Play Games does not necessarily delete previously stored cloud information.

Removing local information does not delete app-store transaction records, advertising information or information independently held by third-party providers. Those providers retain information according to their own policies.

10. International processing

Unity, Google Workspace, advertising providers, app stores and their service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area.

Where required, these services use contractual and organisational safeguards for international transfers, which may include standard contractual clauses and applicable data-processing agreements.

Unity’s services are subject to Unity’s applicable Data Processing Addendum.

Google Workspace processes correspondence under its Cloud Data Processing Addendum, which provides for applicable international-transfer safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where required.

Google’s data-processing terms are available at:

https://cloud.google.com/terms/data-processing-addendum/

Advertising and platform providers describe their international processing and safeguards in their respective privacy information.

Contact us if you need further information about safeguards relating to information for which JKK Solutions Limited is responsible.

11. Children’s privacy

Wordacious is intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not intended for children under 13.

Wordacious does not ask players to provide their name or contact details to play. Third-party services may nevertheless process pseudonymous identifiers, device information, advertising information and cloud game information as described in this policy.

Parents and guardians should help younger players understand advertising privacy choices and supervise external sharing.

Please avoid sending unnecessary personal information about a child in correspondence.

If you believe a child’s personal information has been handled inappropriately, contact:

contact@jkk-online.com

12. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information for which we are responsible.

Cloud information is transmitted to service providers using encrypted connections where supported. Unity states that Cloud Save information is encrypted in transit.

Local information also depends on the security of your device, platform gaming account and app-store account. Third-party services apply their own security measures.

No electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure.

13. Your choices and rights

Depending on your device, platform and applicable law, you can:

Uninstalling the app may remove local information, subject to backup and platform behaviour, but does not necessarily delete cloud information.

Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may have rights to:

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.

To make a request concerning Cloud Save information or other information for which JKK Solutions Limited is responsible, contact:

contact@jkk-online.com

We may need information sufficient to identify the relevant Wordacious player record and verify that the request relates to you. Do not send passwords, payment-card information or other unnecessary sensitive information.

For information held independently by an app store, platform or advertising provider, its privacy information explains how to contact it and exercise your rights. Unity’s advertising privacy panel also links to processes for requesting access to or deletion of advertising information.

You may complain to your local data-protection authority.

In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office:

https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when features, services, legal requirements or privacy practices change.

We will revise the date above and make the updated policy available in the app or through its store listing.

Material changes will be brought to your attention where required.

For privacy questions, data requests or feedback, email:

contact@jkk-online.com

Dictionaries and Word Feedback

Wordacious uses word lists derived from SCOWL (Spell Checker Oriented Word Lists), adapted for the game.

Different lists are used for word checking, Daily Challenge word selection and WAIN’s difficulty levels. Level puzzles also use words selected for their particular challenges.

Our lists may differ from other dictionaries and word games. A word recognised elsewhere may not be accepted in Wordacious, and a word accepted by the game may not be one WAIN chooses to play.

Acceptance also depends on the rules of the game mode, including word length.

We maintain filters and blocked-word lists to reduce unsuitable words in the game, including words WAIN can play and unwanted words appearing in displayed racks.

We regularly review our word lists and blocked words. Filtering is not perfect. Inclusion or exclusion does not imply endorsement or a judgement about every use of a word.

If you think a valid word is missing, a word has been incorrectly blocked, or an accepted or displayed word needs reviewing, email:

contact@jkk-online.com

Please include the word, game mode, app version and, where possible, a dictionary reference or screenshot.

Suggestions help us improve future updates, but we cannot guarantee that every suggested change will be made.

The privacy policy above explains how we handle feedback you send.
